Wearing the green and gold and representing your country at anytime in any sport is an honour. I was fortunate to be given my first opportunity to debut for the Australia Diamonds in 2016, coming off the bench at three quarter time, in Liverpool and I became diamond #168.
Walking out for that game and standing on the tranverse line and singing the National Anthem knowing that my parents and brothers were in the crowd supporting me is still one of my favourite and proudest moments as a netball player.
The Diamonds environment is elite and what I have learnt along my journey is that selection into a squad or team is so precious. Since my debut I have been able to travel around Australia, New Zealand, England and South Africa competing in Quad Series, Constellation Cups, a Commonwealth Games and a World Cup. It’s an environment where we are challenged, on and off the court, but having a team of players and staff who are all so determined and committed to bringing their best self makes for a highly motivational environment.
Amongst all of this we are the lucky ones that are representing all the young netballers in this country, past players of the diamonds, our family and friends and everyone who has helped us on our journey to get there and to me, that is what its all about.
